Evacuation of Hong Kong

I am directed to inform you that it has now been possible to make an approximate assessment of the Hong Kong evacuation but in

accordance with a suggestion made by the Treasury it is not proposed to make an assessed charge to your votes. In the circumstances, the attached statement showing the approximate cost is forwarded for your information It is pointed out that although the assessment is only approximate, it is probably a good guide to the order of the expense incurred.
